Furniture in Urartu art

ABSTRACT In this study titled 'Furniture in Urartian Art', furniture production in Urartu civilization, which has an important place in the Iron Age political structure of Anatolia, has been examined. This study focus on the understanding of Urartu civilization and its art through examination of the Urartian furniture.Fort he purposes of this study, art of theAssyrian, Mesopotamia, Phrygian civilizations weretaken as a starting point and provided the basis for understanding Urartian art literature review, demonstrated that the furniture in Urartian art was not studied as a stand-alone subject, but rather it was referred as a sub-section within the studies that included the understanding of furniture art in surrounding civilizations. From this reason, Urartu furniture art was examined in the thesis study as a stand-alone subject. Keywords: Urartu, Assyria, Phrygia, Furniture.
