Stone carving art in Urartu

This study covers all of the stone carvings thought to have been made during the Urartian period. Stone works, which are considered stone carvings, consist of artistic elements made with sculpture, relief, intaglio/carving-inlay and scraping techniques. It is aimed to classify existing stone works in the Notion program according to their construction techniques and to evaluate them in comparison with both Urartian bronze works and Urartian contemporary states. The reason why Urartian stone carvings are scarce compared to contemporary states has been discussed in the context of Urartu's geographical features and tried to be explained on the basis of Urartu's current socio-political and socio-economic situation. The dimensions of each figure of the scenes on the four sides of the Kef Kalesi Embossed Column Bases were taken and outlined in the AutoCad program. Thanks to this method, it was tried to find answers to the questions of whether the repetitive scenes were made with the help of a template and whether they were produced by one hand.
