Özet (EN)

Although urinary incontinence (UI) is not a mortal disease, it is a health problem which affects the physical, social , professional and educational activities and life quality of women. The first preference in treatment is the behavioral one due to its safety ,patient comfort, no side effects and high level of patient satisfaction. It has been observed that with biofeedback, which is one these treatments, along with pelvic floor exercises, episodes of incontinence could be reduced by 61%-91%. This research has been planned to experimentally investigate the effects of pelvic floor muscle exercises done with biofeedback on urinary incontinence and life quality of these patients. This study has been realized with volunteers of 30 intervention and 30 control groups with a diagnosis of urinary incontinence complying within the limitations of the research at Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital Urodynamics unit. The data of the research has been gathered with the Patient Information Form, the Incontinence life quality scale, the international incontinence inquiry form and Body Mass Index (BMI).As a result of the study, the average Incontinence inquiry form score of the intervention group which was 16,1±2,2 before the biofeedback implementation decreased to 11,6±4,6 ,on the other hand in the control group the average, it was 14,0±4,7 it increased to 14,7±4,7 ,the scores before and after the treatment have been determined to have a significant difference (p?0,05). In the intervention group the total score average of the Incontinence life quality scale increased from ????????? to ????????? after the application whereas in the control group it has decreased from ????????? to ????????? ; the scores before and after the treatment have been determined to have a significant difference (p?0,05).It has been established that in the intervention and control groups the total and sub-dimensional life quality scores before and after the biofeedback implementation have a significant difference (p?0,05) . As a result, it has been determined that biofeedback with pelvic floor exercises has a positive effect on urinary incontinence treatment and increased life quality level of patients.
