The place of glass as a gift in product design and practices on the sample of Eskişehir

Glass has been used in the production of various materials since ancient times, from artistic products to souvenirs, from architecture to tableware, from jewelry to medical products. In this study titled "The place of Glass as a gift in product design and practices on the sample of Eskişehir" had examined the value of touristic souvenirs related to cultural transmissions. Different cultures reviewed with products of glass manufacturers around the world examined. Consequence of the research lead to design unique souvenir production exclusive to Eskişehir. In the first part of this study, which consists of four parts, the factors to be considered in product design and the effects of designer and user-centered designs on product design are investigated. In the second part, the importance of gift concept and culture in the world is mentioned. Elements to be considered in the design of tourist souvenirs have been researched. Examples of affordable tourist souvenir designs in the market in different countries are given. In the third part, the leading companies in gift and product design were researched and the glassware and souvenir glassware designs produced by these companies were examined. In the fourth chapter, it is aimed to create original and design products that will reflect Eskişehir based on the historical and cultural structure of Eskişehir.
