Abstract (EN)
Üsküdar Nasûhî Mehmet Efendi Mosque and outbuildings, 1688 h.c. (1099 c.e.), was built as a dergâh (dervish convent) in the name of the founder of the Nasûhiyye tariqat. When Nasûhî Mehmet Efendi was died, he was buried in the yard of dergâ, then then a tomb was built on his grave. In 1925, with the Lodge Act, the tevhidhâne section of the dergâh was converted into a mosque. The relatives of Nasûhî Mehmet Efendi settled in the greeting building of the Dergah. The mosque has undergone various repairs in the past, and continues its function today. The greeting building is home to Nasûhî Association, Sebil Publishing House and Sociologists Association. There are 275 different şâhides with different features in the hazîre of the mosque. 179 pieces of şahids have ornate epigraphs. There are 67 ornate şâhides, and also, 3 tombstones for decapitator. Our study consists of the introduction, the first part which includes the historical and architectural evaluation of Nasûhî Mehmet Efendi Mosque and Tomb, and the second part which includes the evaluation of the şâhides in the hazîre of the mosque. We referred to written sources and archival documents about the life of Nasûhî Mehmet Efendi and the history of Nasûhî Efendi Mosque and Tomb. We included whole and detailed, interior-exterior photos of the mosque, tomb and greeting building, and evaluated them in architectural perspective. The şâhides in the Hazîre, those with epigraph and ornate ones, have been examined and grouped separately. Those ones with epigraph have been numbered, photographed, and their readings have been made. The information slip for each şâhide was created, the identity of the tomb owner, his gender, the type of the calligraphy, calligraphist if any, the examination date of the şâhide, and the measurements were provided. The evaluation of the epigraphs in terms of calligraphy is handled in separate titles. Decorated stones were evaluated under different headings according to their period characteristics. Headings of the Şâhides, which differ according conditions of the grave holder such as his gender, profession, connection with the religious sect and social status, have been evaluated in terms of their types, and information about şâhide headings have been provided.
