Zeyl-i Saka'ik of Ussakizade Hasib (Analysis-Text-Index)

In the Anatolian range of Turkish literature biography achieved a special identity in 16.century. This sort of literature gained a rapid development by the work Şakâ'iku'n Nu'mâniyye Fi Ulemâi'd-Devleti'l-Osmâniye which was written by Taşköprîzâde Ahmed Efendi in Arabic language and contains the biographies of scholars and sufis. The work was translated into Turkish copied in a little while and extracts, antologies ,additions were began to be written.From 16. century till the end of the 19.century the tradition of writting additions continued ceasslessly. The first represantative of this tradition in 18.century was Seyyid İbrâhîm Hasîb Efendi who was a member of a well-known family from the scholar rank of Ottomans named Uşşâkîzâde's. He wrote an addition to the Hadâ'iku'l-hakâ'ik Fî Tekmileti'ş- şakâ'ik written by Nev'îzâde Atâyî. The writter includes in his work the biographies of 540 scholars,sufis and statesmen.The people in this work were many poets and writters beginning with the time of addition of Nev'îzâde 1043 (1634) till the age of Sultan Ahmed the second 1106 (1695). In this study the work of Zeyl-i Şakâ'ik written by Seyyid İbrâhîm Hasîb was examined in detail after emphasizing on the tradition of Şakâ'iku'n-Nu'mâniyye. Beginning with the copied manuscript of Hafid Efendi that is recorded in number 242 in the manuscript library of Süleymaniye, the transcriptional text of the work is presented. Also there were added a detailed index composed of location, personal names and the names of the Works.
