Investigation of knowledge level of classroom teachers for gifted children

This study was conducted to determine the level of knowledge of teachers for gifted children. General screening model of the universe of the research conducted using the method 2012-2013 academic year in the province of Istanbul Kucukcekmece district of working-class teachers, has created The sample Gifted Children Identification Scale and Personal Variables Form answering 363 classroom teachers. The collection of data, developed by the researchers performed the scan area reliability and validity of the results of the Kaiser-Meyer- Olkin (KMO) value of 0.847, Cronbach's alpha values of 0877 contained Gifted Children Identification Scale their duties and teacher school, grade level, years of service, gender, report the number of gifted students, education levels, personal variables aimed at collecting information about the number of students they lead to related organizations form is used. Data descriptive statistics, one-way MANOVA were analyzed with SPSS 15.0 statistical methods such as using Games-Howell. As a result of research on the gender of the teacher in class knowledge about gifted children, their grade levels, education levels, their years of service, a significant difference was observed not formed according to the number of students referred to the relevant institutions. This situation has to be reviewed in view of the teachers in similar sample. Knowledge of classroom teachers for gifted children in the study were found to vary significantly according to the number of students gifted child report. In line with the findings, classroom teachers and education of gifted children nominated gifted children and teaching models applied to in-service training needs to be said that the title also standardized test that does not require expertise that they can use in class.
