Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to reveal the state of 'values education' which is a subject in Science and Art Centers existing in some cities of Turkey based on teachers' and administrators' opinions. For the research, one of the qualitative research methods, semi-structured interview was used. By applying purposeful sampling,3 students attending Values education lesson and 14 administrators from 7 varied Science and Art Centers were assigned as participants. Semi- structured interview technique, which is one of the qualitative data collection methods, was used as data collection tool. The data collected were sorted out by descriptive analysis technique. At the end of the research, it was concluded that the gifted students in most of the Science and Art Centers weren't given values education effectively, such an important subject was handled with simple methods and temporary solutions, and actually the participants needed being informed about values education. In this sense, the ministry of education should provide its staff members with an inclusive education to inform them about the significance of values education, its speciality for the gifted, also why and how to teach it without being ordinary. In addition, because the students attending Science and Art Centres have a 'time' problem, their participation can be increased by an effective curriculum prepared for values education.
