UTAUT2 modelinin yükseköğretim düzeyinde İngilizce dil eğitmenleri arasında üretken yapay zekâ teknolojilerinin kabulünü ve kullanımı tahmin etmede uygulanabilirliğinin değerlendirilmesi

The research examines how well the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) predicts English language instructors in Turkish higher education will accept and use generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technologies. The research employed an explanatory sequential mixed methods design to evaluate how UTAUT2 constructs, including performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, and habit, predict instructors' behavioral intentions and actual usage of the GenAI tool. The research collected qualitative data through semi-structured interviews and classroom observations to gain a better understanding of how instructors view GenAI adoption and what institutional support factors, professional identities, and pedagogical beliefs influence their adoption decisions. The research revealed that performance expectancy and hedonic motivation significantly influenced instructors' intentions; however, facilitating conditions proved essential for their actual use of the GenAI tool. The instructors recognized both substantial advantages from GenAI tools, including time-saving capabilities and improved student participation, as well as significant obstacles related to plagiarism ethics and the accuracy of AI-generated content. The research provides essential recommendations for educational policymakers, curriculum designers, and teacher trainers, based on evidence-based findings that address the specific educational needs of Türkiye.
