Satellite communications, forbetter or worse affects the definition of the concepts of global trade, competition,power, and governance along the way.Satellites today provide society every kind of services such as globaltelecommunications, military purposes, TV and radio broadcasting services,navigation applications, environmental scientific data services and much more.Since they are used in many areas for different purposes, satellite communicationmarket reaches a multibillion dollar industry. Satellite related markets cover wideand different areas of market segments from satellite manufacturing to launchservices, from satellite operators, TV and Radio companies to decoder, dish, uplinkequipment manufacturers.In this thesis it is intended to make research on companies which operates thecommunication satellites and as an application Turksat Satellite Company thatoperates in Turkey is chosen. Satellite business in Turkey was first operated by PTTand then Turk Telekom as a directorate. In 2004 by law Turksat A.S. has beenfounded as a public owned company to operate the satellite business in Turkey. Thisresearch examines and analyzes the satellites, satellite operators, satellitecommunication market.
