Abstract (EN)
In this dissertation, satellite magnetic data are used in two different study. The first study involves interpretation of Mid-Atlantic Ocean Ridge with using satellite magnetic data. The second one covers magnetic pre-earthquake and post-earthquake monitoring of Oaxaca region in Mexico where Mw=7.2 was observed on 16th February 2018. The aims of these studies are introducing the satellite magnetic data and its limitations. It can be said that the reduction to pole (RTP) method is not producing quite reliable results for large areas such as Mid-Atlantic Ocean Ridge. Instead of the reduction to pole (RTP) method, amplitude of analytic signal (AS) and local wavenumber (LW) are used. Among these methods, best result is produced by the amplitude of analytic signal (AS). Additionally, the resolution of satellite magnetic data is analysed. In the second study, where Oaxaca Region is monitored via satellite magnetic data, external magnetic field cannot be removed in desired level and accuracy. Therefore, vector components of the magnetic field, which do not affect from external magnetic field, are used. Subjectively, the best result is produced by Y component (By). In the long run, satellite magnetic data will be improved. It is expected to see that the interpretability of satellite magnetic data will increase.
