Abstract (EN)

Frost is occured when the air temperature (1.25-2m above ground) falls below 0° C. In this study, frost risk (temperature) maps were constructed for next six hours at one hour interval using meteorological parameters and satellite images for Adana, Mersin ve Osmaniye regions. First of all, the meteorological parameters (temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, wind direction) which are assumed to be related to frost risk and LST (Land Surface Temperature) products of Meteosat Satellite were obtained from MGM (Meteoroloji Genel Müdürlüğü) and IPMA (Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera) for selected 24 stations. The SVM (Support Vector Machine) machine learning algorithm was applied to these data in order to estimate the temperature for the next six hours at one hour interval for all stations and frost risk maps were generated using interpolation.
