A screening model for the language teaching method applied

This study has been conducted in order to serve as a model of what should be done if a foreign language teaching institution that has declared a particular method as their teaching principle necessitates the need to question the effectiveness of that applied method. In this study, a sample research was conducted in an institution in which the Communicative Language Teaching had been established as a teaching principle. First of all, in this study, all the common methods of teaching a foreign language have been compared and contrasted based on certain defined descriptors and the basic prominent characteristics of the Communicative Language Teaching Method were also listed. After this clarification, the kinds of measurement that can be done in order to learn how this method can effectively work, how it can be organized and how it can be interpreted with an applied questionnaire, have been discussed. At the end of this research, the people who work in the institution where the Communicative Language Teaching method has been accepted as a teaching principle, teachers, administrators, etc. have realized how well this method has been applied and what they could do to strengthen aspects that have been neglected. This study is expected to lead to the forthcoming studies and to contribute to the studies of questioning the applied methods and improving them further.
