The effects of remote working frequency and digital leadership on team member exchange in organizations

Abstract (EN)

The increase in the pace of digitalization has led organizations to use digital tools more actively, to apply different working methods and to create more customized organizational structures. This change affects the interaction network and leadership styles in organizations. It is expected that leaders will actively use digital tools and teams will become more agile. The concept of digital leadership is an approach that models transforming leadership practices, the quality of team member interaction and the relationships of organizational members based on social exchange theory. In this study, the relationship between digital leadership, team member interaction and remote working, which is one of the working models that have become widespread in today's conditions with the effect of the last few years, has been examined. As a result of the research conducted with the data of 198 participants reached digitally through a survey conducted with white-collar employees from various sectors in Istanbul, it was found that the frequency of remote work and digital leadership increased team member exchange, and digital leadership in remote work processes positively affected team member exchange.
