Opinions of secondary school teachers on the distance education process

The aim of this study is to reveal the views on distance education practices in a secondary school affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. Ten teachers working in Konyaaltı, which was determined by easily accessible case sampling, one of the purposeful sampling methods, participated in this research in which the qualitative research method was used. The research is in the case study pattern, one of the qualitative research designs. For this reason, a semi-structured interview form was prepared in order to collect data in the research and the interview technique was used and the data were analyzed with the content analysis technique. All the data obtained in the research were coded, various dimensions and themes suitable for these dimensions were determined in accordance with the purpose of the research, and the determined themes were summarized and interpreted. According to the research results; The majority of the participants stated that the importance and effectiveness of distance education has increased with the Covid-19 pandemic. While the quality and quantity of distance education has been questioned before, distance education has been evaluated as an opportunity with the pandemic. The problems encountered in distance education applications in public secondary schools, the level of awareness, advantages, especially the current situation experienced during the pandemic process were evaluated and some solution suggestions were presented.
