Özet (EN)
This work aims to establish how those faculty, who teaches on at least one internet-based distance education program, perceive the current status of distance education. It is intended that this work be useful during selection of faculty to be assigned to a distance education program, deciding as to which trainings to be given to such faculty or planning and scheduling such programs. This work develops a new type of scale to measure the distance education perceptions of faculty after studying different scales of this context in the literature. This scale is composed of such factors as ?basic perception of distance education?, ?access to resources?, and ?education planning?. The total variance that can be explained by the scale is 56,88. The Cronbach alpha inner security factor of the scale is calculated to be 0,91. The Cronbach alpha inner security factor for each of the different factors is 0,91 for the ?basic perception of distance education?, 0,81 for ?access to resources? and 0,80 for ?education planning?.The data was collected from valid answers of a scan of 81 faculty working at 13 universities that provide distance education programs in the country. ANOVA and Post Hoc are used on cases where parametric statistics assumptions are met, whereas Kruskal Wallis H-Test and Mann-Whitney U-Test are used where they are not met. Scheffe was used for multi-comparison of the average scores. Statistical analysis of data is done using 0,05 significance value on SPSS 16.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). The scores indicate medium perception regarding ?basic perception of distance education? and ?access to resources?, whereas they indicate high perception when it comes to the ?education planning? factor. All in all, it has been concluded that the level of perception regarding the existing process of distance eduation is medium. It has also been decided that the general perceptions of faculty are not dependent significantly on the independent variables used in this work.
