Abstract (EN)
Today, the application of dental implants has become an important option for the treatment of tooth loss due to various reasons. With the widespread use of implant applications, it has begun to bring various complications, and this process can eventually result in implant loss. For each patient, it is important to create an appropriate treatment plan by evaluating anatomical conditions, implant design, the amount of bone around the implant and bone quality. In this thesis study, it was planned to examine the long-term functional implants clinically among the patients who came to Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry for routine control in order to elucidate the parameters that may cause the formation of peri-implantitis. After obtaining consent from each patient, all oral clinical indexes; Plaque index, bleeding on probing, pocket depth, keratinized gingival thickness and width, fornix depth and systemic anamnesis were taken. After 252 implants examined, more peri-implant mucositis groups were observed and as a result of the examination criteria, at least 1mm of keratinized gingiva width, the presence of at least 2mm keratinized gingival thickness and 5mm fornix depth around the implant has been found to be important for peri-implant health. However, we believe that more comprehensive studies will further clarify the issue as a clear truth has not been reached in terms of factors affecting peri-implant health.
