Haramayn Foundations in Vamik Shukru Efendi's work titled Evkaf-ı Umem Historical (Transcription and evaluation)

Mecca and Medina, which are sacred to Muslims, are named as Haramayn due to their religious characteristics. Haramayn are cities that have played an important role in the birth and spread of Islam. For this reason, Muslims rendered great services in Haramayn with the foundation institution, which is one of the important institutions of Islamic Civilization. The first foundation in the world, the first foundation in Islam, and the part of Haramayn foundations in his eight volume work called Vamik Shukru Evkaf-ı Umem History, which reveals the services of foundations by benefiting from important sources, is discussed. In these parts, important information was obtained in terms of the first period of Islamic History. Information about the people and states who served from the first donation of the foundations to the repair was obtained. By examining the number and types of these foundations, the needs of Muslims were observed. The architectural development of Islamic states and the construction of magnificent works in Haramayn are seen as cultural heritage transferred to the future through foundations. In addition, the initiation and dissemination of the surre tradition helped us to see the sensitivity of Muslim states on the Haramayn.
