Abstract (EN)

. This study conducted a detailed analysis of cases presented to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine between 2022 and 2023. A total of 242 animals were evaluated for examination and treatment purposes during this period. The study population included 125 cattle, 22 sheep, 18 goats, 12 dogs, 63 cats, 1 mare, and 1 exotic animal. Analysis revealed that 51.7% of the cases were cattle, 9.1% sheep, 26% cats, 5% dogs, 7.4% goats, and 0.8% other animals (mare, exotic). The reasons for presentation to the clinics were examined, showing that the most common conditions were pregnancy examination in cattle (81.4%; 68 cases), pregnancy examination in goats (52.9%; 9 cases), difficult labor in sheep (63.2%; 12 cases), pregnancy examination and vaginal prolapse in dogs (33.3%; 4 cases and 25%; 3 cases, respectively), and ovariohysterectomy in cats (64.4%; 38 cases). Statistical analysis indicated significant differences among animal species presented to the clinic over the years (p˂0.05), whereas the number of animals presented per month showed statistically insignificant differences (p>0.05). In conclusion, a predominance of cattle followed by cats was observed among animals presented to our clinic between 2022 and 2023. The most frequent reasons for presentation were pregnancy examination in cattle, ovariohysterectomy in cats, pregnancy examination in goats, difficult labor in sheep, pregnancy examination in dogs, and vaginal prolapse. A notable decrease in the number of animals presented to our clinic was observed compared to previous years.
