Abstract (EN)

In today's business world where the competition has been moved to an international dimension, working times have changed considerably between 08: 00-17: 00 hours. In order to ensure continuity in the industrial and service sectors, twenty-four hour basis studies have been raised. As a result of this system, shift work system emerged. Security workers, health workers, factory workers, people working in call centers, employees in many sectors such as transportation and entertainment have to work shifts. However, the spiritual, physical, social, psychological, and biological structure of human beings cannot adapt to the shift system and the shift work system brings with it many problems. Women working under shift working system are also getting more and more difficult to establish work-life balance. Individuals have to strike a balance between work and life in order to overcome the problems that affect their business and private lives. It has become obligatory to establish a work-life balance due to the fact that women and men want to fulfill their responsibilities in family and business life. There is a lack of female labor force in some occupational groups. One of these professional groups is the security sector. This work; emphasizes how and how women work in shifts have fulfilled their job and their duties and responsibilities in their private lives. The purpose of this research is to address this problem; The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of shift working system on work-life balance of female employees. Qualitative research method was used to get detailed information about the subject. In the research, interviews were made with Yimi women working shifts in security sector in semi-structured in-depth interview method in Sakarya province. After the data were collected, the interviews were analyzed and analyzed in Nvivo version 12. According to these data; two general themes, positive and negative, related to work-life balances of female security officers working in shifts. Positive and negative themes are divided into sub-themes in relation to the subject of the research. These themes include; The shift work system will be useful in understanding how female employees' private lives and family lives are affected.
