Literary text criticism and poems in 231-281. numbers of Varlık magazine

Magazines of literature and idea played an important role in Turkeyfrom the very beginning of their publication. In our work, we tried to make adetailed assessment of Varlık magazine ?numbers 231-281?Our work consists of an introduction and four parts. In the introduction,the political, social and cultural panorama of the 1940? years where thenumbers 231-281 of the magazine issued, have been depicted. In the firstpart, was given the general appearance of the Turkish Literature andinformation about the magazines of that period of the time.In the second part, attention is paid on the formation and the featuresof Varlık.;poet-writer staff of Magazine was established. Varlık kept itsdistance from ideological arguments common in most of the magazines in1940?s. That is why we see in pages, many writers who have differentattitude from each other.In the third part, we analyzed the poems and proses in the Varlık. Thepoetry is the the gender to which Varlık attached the most importance. Inthose days it was possible to se the examples of Garip poetry, pure poetryand nationalist poetry.The most important part of prose include intellectual and criticalwritings as well as literary questionnaire.The fourth part includes the index which shows us that Varlık, despiteof all difficulties it faced with, made it possible for its readers to a rich writerand poet environment.Varlık, with these characteristics is an important source for our historyof literature.
