Public's perception of welfare services and management: Example of Diyarbakır

Perception management is a management technique started to be used in public administration in recent years next to the business science. It is a set of public services provided to citizens and ensure that the work is apprehended as desired. To increase the efficiency of the public services and to be able to perform the accessible desired services, they should be percieved right by the citizents in addition to they are presented well.By covering the public services for the needs and their right preception by the citizens, the trustworthy and the sense of belonging of the citizens will increase. As one of the most requriements of the modern social states, today, the states allocate significant resources to the social helps. The perception of the citizen is extremely important while presenting the social assistances which bear on most of the society.Therefore, to measure and to learn the perceptions of citizens in social welfare work and to set the right perception, the necessary works whould be made. In this study, the perception of citizens in social welfare services was assessed through the example of Diyarbakir province. Information has been given about perception and perception management and perception management in the provision of public services and welfare have been described. Also in the provision of public serives and social welfare, perception management has been addressed. After that, a survey has been conducted with the help of the citizens of the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation take place in the Center of Diyarbakır by face to face. Hypotheses were tested by analizing the data obtained. Results have been interpreted and recommendations have been introduced.
