Khumāsī and Sudāsī nouns in Arabic language in terms of wad' and Ta'rīb

Abstract (EN)

Abū al-Fadl Muhammad Ibn Mukarram Ibn Manzūr (d. 711/1311) mention in the his dictionary named Lisān al-'Arab which he wrote according to last letter system addressed the khumāsī and sudāsī nouns in terms of wadʻ and arabicised. It is mentioned that from which background did khumāsī and sudāsī names, termed by the Arabic linguists as mu'arreb or dahīl, come to Arabic, what are the pronunciations and the meanings of these names in their language, what kind of changes have these words been exposed to when transferred to the Arabic language. It is also mentioned how the names of mu'arreb in the Arabic language were determined, with what factors did ta'rīb emerge in linguistics, and what kind of rules are connected to ta'rīb. Arabicised khumāsī and sudāsī names are classified according to their source languages, and each language is examined under a separate title. After the relationship between the source language and the Arabic is given, it is made reference to explanations about the meaning of the mu'arreb khumāsī and sudāsī names in Arabic language ordered by alphabetical order, their plural conjugation, if any other pronunciations, from which background did these names come to Arabic, the pronunciation and the meaning in the original language. In addition these names, which Ibn Manzūr yield as arabicised, have been tried to be determined during the period after they have been scanned dictionaries as Kitāb al-ayn which written in the century of the hegira II, Tehzîbu'l-luða which written in the century of the hegira IV and al-Muhkam which written in the middle of century of the hegira V. The results obtained are tabularised at the end of the study.
