1. ABSTRACTThe Apoptosis in the Saphena Vein on which Mechanic Distention is applied with Vazodilator SolutionsThe pathogenesis of the endothelium damage which had occurred on the saphena vein graft is still in discussion, although various theories have been developed. The theories which recently have been brought forth for the physiopathology of the endothelium damage on the saphena vein graft are the damage and the pursuing decadence caused by the intrinsic venous wall abnormalities. It has been urged in researches that, the vascular cell apoptosis can be a part in the control of the cellular composition and its morphology of the wall of the blood vessel. We?ve aimed in this study, to research the role of apoptotic activity in the achievement of the endothelium damage caused by the mechanical distension developed by the solutions on which pharmacologic agents (used for preparing saphena vein graft) were added, by determining the pro- apoptotic conditions (bax and kaspaz- 9), and the anti- apoptotic conditions (bcl-2).32 patients who will undergo coroner arterial bypass graft operations of both kind, and who have healthy vena saphena magma without insufficiency in varicose veins and venous, were object to the study. Four groups were formed in total of which Group 1 had 8 patients (Kontrol), Group 2 had 8 patients (papaverine), Group 3 had 8 patients (Verapamil) and Group 4 had 8 patients (Nitroglycerin). Tissue specimens were taken out of the vena saphena magna of each group. Immunohistochemical coloration, and the pro- apoptotic bax and kaspaz- 9 and anti- apoptotic bcl- 2 were researched in the tissue specimens.It?s observed that the vascular structure rendering in the saphena vein (which was prepared with papaverine solutions as a control arrangement in histomorphologic sense) was spoilt, and that a fastidious tendency to the atherosclerotic, and cause endothelium damage. In the saphena vein which was prepared with Verepamil and nitroglycerin, it was observed that the vascular was protected, and that endothelium damage was at minimum level in the intima.It?s observed in Immunohistochemical studies that, the cells of which especially the bax the most, and the kaspaz cells were colored very intensely during the saphena vein studies which were applied by every group. That the Bax was colored seemed semantic, however, the colored kaspaz caused the occurrence of results which were close to each other, and this wasn?t perceived as semantic. The bcl-2 was less colored in the control and papaverine group while in the verepamil and nitroglycerin group more bcl-2 was colored, and this was perceived as semantic.Finally it?s observed that apoptotic activity was acute in the saphena vein where papaverine and control solutions (in which a fastidious tendency to the atherosclerotic, and endothelium damage in histomorphologic sense was encountered) were used, it was also observed that in the saphena vein where verepamil and nitroglycerin solutions (in which a decrease was noticed in endothelium damage and the atherosclerosis) were used, occurred less apoptotic activity.Key words: Saphena vein, Apoptotic, Vascular wall
