An evaluation of the influence of qira'at differences on the maʿnā in Wahbah az-Zuhayli's great work named ''al-Tafsir al- Muneer''

The Quran has attracted the interest of people since its composition so not only believers but also many unbelievers have been studying on it. The science of "tafsir" and "qira'at" are significant and most favored fields which the studies related to the Quran, are intensified. Each of the tafsir studies is regarded as an indicator of the knowledge of its exegetist, as well as the methods, used in the tafsir process, and also gives clues considering many scientific disciplines that they utilized. At this point, it is accepted that the science of qira'at is regarded as one of the sciences utilized by the science of the tafsir. During the period of interpretation of the verses and surahs, the differences in qira'at are considered and thus the richness of meaning that derives as a result of differences in pronunciation and qiraat is taken advantage of. In this study, we discussed the al-Tafsir al-Muneer fi'l-'akîdeti ve'ş-şerî'ati ve'l-menhec of a Syrian scholar, named Wahbah az-Zuhayli, who is regarded as one of the recent exegetist, was examined. This work of al-Zuhayli reveals his qualification in the field of tafsir. He is said to have been such a brilliant scholar who used many methodological patterns such as recitation, i'rab, lexicon, rhetoric, Asbāb al-Nüzūl, i.e the context of revelation, and aḥkām, etc in his tafsir work. Methodologically, his tafsir offers characteristics of both riwaya tafsir and ray tafsir. In our study, we will cover the life of Wahbah az-Zuhayli, his academic importance, his tafsir methodology, applied in this work, and the different recitations methods and their reflections on ''maʿnā'' i.e ''meaning'' were also mentioned. It is supposed that this thesis will help to get more genuine information related to the important figure of the tafsir field and also helps to reveal the understanding of the Qur'an and qira'at, in the manner of his interpretation.
