An ethnomethodologial approach to the religious perception of vegetarians and vegans

This study is an ethnomethodological analysis of the religion perceptions of vegetarians and vegans which are their populations have increased in the entire world and our country rapidly. This study consists of five parts including introduction, three main parts and conclusion. The main subject and aim of the research are given in the introduction. In the introduction, it is given the main topic of the theses, it's problems are given and the limitation of the topic is also explained. In addition, the method which is followed during the collecting and analysing the data and examples are also clarified in the introduction. In the first part, the concepts of vegetarian and vegan are analysed, and their varieties are explained. In addition, the development of vegetarianism and veganism is also examined historically. In the second part, worships and rituals which are related to nutrition and diets in religions are evaluated. The relationship between the religions and vegetarian, vegan diets are examined in this section. In the third chapter, the data which is optioned from the participants which are vegan and vegetarians are examined. Whilst the data have analysed ethnomethodologically in this part, it has been tried to be comprehend and examined the subject deeply. Finally, the data which is obtained in the research have evaluated ethnomethodologically.
