Abstract (EN)

The parents who try to complete their social development within economical difficulties, try to live on the basis of the information obtained from the media and their close environment, who became parents without getting any information on the education of children, are in a very difficult condition.In the new world, which is called era of speed or era of space, due to his instinct to protect himself and his children from the innovations which have not seen when he was young and the effects of the new culture, the parent sees the school that is closest to him as its rescuer.School Manager should be able to see, reply and direct the expectations of the parents.It is expected from the school manager to exhibit a relaxing communication against the uneducated or incompletely educated parent. It is desired from him to have sociology, psychology and education formation. It is expected that the speech, behaviors and attitudes of the manager affect the attitudes and behaviors of the parent and direct the education of the children in a positive direction.Under this frame, it shall be the main target of this research to determine what are the expectations from the managers who shall eliminate the insufficiency of the parents of the students and to eliminate these missing points and make solution proposals for the problems.The universe of this research is the parents of the students at the 4th and 5th grades of the Kartal District of Istanbul Province in 2008 ? 2009 educational year.The sample of the research is 311 parents who were randomly chosen among the parents of these 4th and 5th year students.SPSS statistics program was used in order to analyze the data obtained from the questionnaires applied to the subjects. Tables were created for the obtained findings and interpretations were made for them.Key words: parent, insufficiency, manager.July, 2009İsmail Hakki DAYİOGLU
