Investigation of effecting parameters on liquid injection efficiency in venturimeters

The amount of the injected substance, the extra power which is spent during the procedure and homogeneity of the mixture are important issues for these techniques. For that reason various techniques have been used for liquid injection. One of the these techniques is a system with venturimeters. On these systems, when the fluid flows, negative pressure and vacuum effect are formed due to structural properties of venturi apparatus. Thus, fluid is injected to system without extra power. Using this system with pressured pipes may be preferred for economic reasons and provides more homogeneous mixtures. The injection of the fluids in to the main liquid media are affected by factors like the speed of the main liquid, viscosity of the both fluids, the inlet and outlet radius of the venturi system, narrowing degree of the neck region, the length of the pipe and radius of the suction line. At this study, when the water flows in to the venturi with various speeds, the liquids with different viscosity are injected to the system. Two different suction pipe with two radius, various length of the pipes and three liquids with different viscosity are used in this study. The yields of the injection of these factors are investigated. As a conclusion, the most effective injection was provided with small venturi radius and large suction pipes. With high speed and large bore neck venturi systems and low viscosity provided more easy injection. Keywords: Venturi device, Injection, Liquid injection. VII
