Abstract (EN)

There are two ways of reaching conclusions from data by using statistical modeling. One of them is econometrics which starts with a perspective of how data model works and trying to reveal the parameters which identify the model, the other is data mining which doesn't make assumptions about data model and trying to find best model by algorithmically by using the available data. In this study data mining concept, its process, techniques and OLAP, data warehouse and CRISP-DM which are important concepts in terms of data mining were described. With a data mining application performed by WEKA program use of data mining shown in early detection process which increases the probability of survival in cancer which is one common health problem of todays. Key Words KDD, Data Mining, Database, OLAP; Data Warehouse, CRISP-DM, WEKA, Breast Cancer.
