Abstract (EN)

Productivity, is the relationship between an output, that produced by a production or service system, and an input, that is used for creating the output. High productivity means, producing more with the same quantity of source or getting more output with the same quantity of input. Production can also be defined by different ways, but some of these definitions can be confused with Efficiency and Effectiveness. Because of this reason, at the beginning of this study, these concepts are defined detailed and the differences between them are given. Another mistake is productivity is considered only as a condensed usage of the labor and machine sources. But today, it is approved that productivity and working life quality are closely linked with each other. At the time of implementing the productivity improvement techniques, companies, do not take the employees into consideration and they meet with unexpected difficulties. The companies change only the capacity of the machinery and they get a limited and a temporarily productivity improvement. In this study, the difficulties, that the companies can be met at implementing, are defined and some advises are given for getting over. Some of ?Engineering Methods? of Productivity Improvement Techniques are given, but especially focused on ?Quality Way? and ?Behavioral Way? Techniques. It is emphasized that for a permanent improvement; ?Kaizen Philosophy? should be represented to all employees, a productivity culture should be developed before implementations. Decisions and applications should not be done only by top management. Process Management System is defined and the implementations, at a company, are given. The state of the company, the targets, applications and the reached points are also indicated. Key words : Productivity, Efficiency, Effectiveness, Productivity Improvement Techniques, Process Management System.
