Abstract (EN)

Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of video-assisted sportspersonship training on the sportspersonship orientation and moral decision-making attitudes of students attending physical education class. Method: In the study, classical experimental method, one of the experimental methods, was used. A total of 110 students (56 females and 54 males) studying at the 7th grade participated to this research. ''Attitudes to Moral Decision-Making in Youth Sport Questionnaire'' 'and ''Multidimensional Sportspersonship Orientation Scale'' were used as data collection tools. They were applied to all students participating to the study as a pre-test. Later, the students who were chosen as the experimental group were watched videos on different topics of sports ethics and were given trainings 2 hours a week for 8 weeks. Discussion were made in the classroom on video topics. In this way, it is aimed to create awareness on the subject. The control group continued their physical education curriculum and did not receive any other education. After eight weeks, a post-test was applied to both the experimental group and the control group and independent group t test was used to analyze the obtained data. Results: According to the pre-test results, no significant difference was found between the scores of the experimental and control groups in 6 of the 7 sub-dimensions tested. Thus, it was accepted that both groups had a similar structure. Apart from respect for the one's full commitment toward sport participation sub-scale, the differences between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group students in 6 sub-dimensions were found statistically significant. When the pre and post tests of the control group are examined, some values do not change, while the differences in some values are significant. Conclusion: As a result of this study, it was observed that video-supported sportspersonship training had a positive effect on students' sporting orientation and moral decision-making attitudes.
