ABSTRACTMSc THESISSYNTHESIS OF REACTIVE DYE CONTAINING VINYLSULPHONE ANDFLOUR GROUP AND ITS METAL COMPLEXESNurhan BOZOKDEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRYINSTITUE OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCESUNIVERSITY OF CUKUROVASupervisor : Assist.Prof.Dr. Emel YILDIZYear : 2005, Page: 69Jury : Assist.Prof.Dr. Emel YILDIZProf. Dr. Hamit BOZTEPEAssist.Prof.Dr. Emel Ceyhun SABIRThe purpose of this study is the synthesized a new reactive dye and its metalcomplexes which are more soluble in water and high fastness stronger against lightand water.In this study, 1-hydroxy-2-(p-sulphatoetylsulphonyl)phenylazo-7-(2,4-difluoro)phenylazo-8-amino naphtaline-3,6-disulphonic acid di sodium salt(HSFANS) and its complexes with transition metals Cr(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II)have been synthesized. Their structures are determined by analytical andspectroscopic methods. The synthesized compounds have been applied to textilefibers (cellulose fiber, polyamide, viscon) and investigated their washing,perspiration, rubbing and light fastness features have been determined withInternational Standards (Marks& Spencer, ISO 105).In the end of this study, reactive dye and its metal complexes have beensynthesized due to some properties such as more soluble in water, high washingfastness and dying of light colors.Key Words: dis-azo dye, metal complex, vinylsulphone group, flour group.II
