Özet (EN)
Ceramic products change physically and chemically and get smaller during the process of production. So deformations can occur on the surface of the product. It is an unwanted situation in the vitrified ceramics production. It is needed to prevent the already occured deformation or prevent the possible deformations. There are several ways to realize this aim. During the process of desing development, some methods are used to prevent deformations. One is to make small changes on the model and mold or to choose different product developments. Every step of design develepment should be monitored. According to the results, some measurement and evaluation processes are done. Changing process goes on until the problem is solved. When all the measurements are appropriate, all the changes done on the model and the mold are applied to the main mold. Production mold is acquired from the main mold. Productions mold are got into production after they are dried. They are watched during the serial production. If there is no any problem, the process is accepted appropriate. Both in new products and the products that are already in production, we can apply some methods to prevent deformations. In this thesis study, some methods are stated to prevent and eliminate the deformations occuring during the vitrified ceramic production. In part one, vitrified ceramic is defined and the reasons of the deformations are given. In part two, some methods are explained to prevent deformation during designing process. In part three, the occured deformations, their reasons and the ways to prevent them are evaluated. In part four, practices are evaluated. In terms of weak relations between industry and university and too few scientific studies done about design and product improving, this thesis aims to help in the field of vitrified ceramics.
