Abstract (EN)

When the public places which allow common use for citizens are analyzed in terms of people-environment interactions, it is found that there are several variables affecting the user's perception, preferences and behavior. This work aims to research the factors of culture, age bracket and gender roles. In a park (Oberlaa Kurpark; 45-60 age bracket) and in a large street (Kärtner Straße; 20-35 age bracket), both of which was determined by the results of the pilot survey, the main survey was performed. In this study, while it was aimed to determine the differences in perception, preferences and behavior between the two age groups (20-35, 45-60), in-group comparisons for different genders were additionally drawn. A broad evaluation was done including both age groups in terms of the effects of concepts such as immigration, culture, and identity on the people-environment interactions in public places.
