Abstract (EN)
In the field of materials science have been focused on specially ceramics and composite materials. However the necessary financial sources to produce these materails are quite high. In this study, anorthite ceramic material from volcanic tuff and boron (boric acid) were produced by using powder metallurgy methods. Without additives and involving at the different ratios (%2, %4, %6) of boron added samples were sintered in the temprature range of 1000 oC- 1300 oC. Density and hardness measurements were performed. It was seen that after the density measurements of boric acid added and pure pellets, which sintered at temperatures 1000 oC, 1200 oC and 1300 oC, there is not any meaningful correlation between temperature and boric acid addition. However, it was determined that on the pellets, which were sintered at 1100 oC, there is a stable variation change between temperature and boric acid additive. Therefore, samples that sintered at 1100 oC temperature characterized by using XRF, XRD, EDS and Raman Confocal analyses. It was seen that boric acid additive accelerates anorthite after the sintering process, however high boron ratio does not affect anorthite occurance too much. Boron added samples have more uniform structure than pure pellets, however melting occured on both boric acid added and pure pellets, with increasing boric acid additive ratio of pellets, especially sintered at 1200 oC and 1300 oC and deformation on pellets? structure were observed. The sintering process finishes rapidly with increasing boric acid content the other surface of the pellets. As a result of this phenomena the geometrical deformations can be formed in the pellets.
