Abstract (EN)
Objective: The energy balance of organisms is provided by multidirectional complex processes that interact with each other, determined by sensory and metabolic factors. This study focused on revealing the potential relationship between olfactory functions as an indicator of sensory control and body mass index (BMI), which is an indicator of body energy stores. Methods: The study was carried out prospectively in a single center and cross-sectional. The participants were children between the ages of 11 and 18. 57 patients with overweight, obesity and morbid obesity were the study group and 19 children with normal weight were the control group.
