Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study was conducted in order to test the reliability and validity of Infertility Self-efficacy Scale-Short Form (ISE-SF) and Infertility Adjustment Scale (IAS), evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing care program based on Watson? Theory of Human Caring to infertil women? distress, self-efficacy and adjustment status.Method: This study was composed of two phases with methodological and experimental phase. At the methodological phase, the reliability-validity test of ISE-SF and IAS was conducted methodologically on 120 infertil women. Experimental phase was carried out on105 infertil women including 52 experiment and 53 control groups by using the pretest-posttest with randomized controlled study. The study was based on nursing care program using the Theory of Human Caring to guide practice. Data were collected through Infertility Distress Scale, ISE-SF and IAS. t-test, chi-square, ITT was used to evaluation of the data. Results: Cronbach alphas were found to 0.78 and 0.77, respectively ISE-SF and IAS. At the end of RCT, experiment and control groups of women with infertility, were found to be the difference between distress, self-efficacy, and adjustment levels. A statistically significant decrease was detected in infertility distres score in the post-intervention period to experiment group (p:0.000) while a slight increase in the control group score (p:0.31). Also, experiment group posttest infertility self-efficacy and adjustment scores were statistically higher than that of the control group. Conclusion: ISE-SF and IAS are a reliable and valid instrument. Nursing interventions based on Theory of Human Caring to reduce the negative effects of infertility of infertile women undergoing fertility treatment, has been proven to increase self-efficacy and adjustment levels.Key Words: Infertility, Nursing Care, Infertility Self-efficacy Scale-Short Form and Infertility Adjustment Scale, Watson?
