Abstract (EN)
Informatics technologies, having constantly developed and changed from past up to present, have become an important and indispensable part in every area of daily life. Computers are also utilized in education for various purposes. One of the most common usages of computers in education is the internet. The systems which bring computer and the internet together and make students be more effective in the learning process and which are prepared in accordance with educational purposes are known as web based educational systems.When a web based intelligent tutoring system aims to provide a personal adaptive learning opportunity, it needs to know what knowledge the student has and what goals the student is currently trying to achieve. Therefore, system observes student to predict his/her learning style while working with an intelligent tutor. However, student can follow several paths of reasoning and he/she usually does not show his/her reasoning explicitly. Therefore, student model involves a high level of uncertaintyIn order to minimize learning uncertainties and create a productive and effective intelligent tutoring system, type-2 fuzzy logic, one of the artificial intelligence techniques, is used in the system developed in this study. The software have been designed on Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Toolbox and Matlab Web Server environment which communicate with students and matlab.The expanded Fuzzy Logic, Type-2 Fuzzy Logic, is able to handle uncertainties because it can model them and minimize their effects. And, if all uncertainties disappear, Type-2 Fuzzy Logic can be reduced to Type-1 Fuzzy Logic.An application made on the junior students in the Department of Electronics and Computer Education of Technical Education Faculty at Firat University in order to evaluate the success of developed software. According to the results obtained from the application, prepared system was determined to be more effective in learning than traditional methods applied in a basic Control System Course.
