Özet (EN)

In the science laboratory education applications, in order to achieve the activities performed with crowded student groups; there are many difficulties. It is thought that these problems can be reduced by using technology and internet supported environments depending on the developments in technology. Designing virtual laboratory activities in sicience education and presenting the use of students on the internet environment will alleviate the burden of the educators and the opinions that the students will increase the success and motivation, are presented with scientific researches. In this study, some of the activities that sicience teachers teach in the laboratory environment are difficult or impossible to do are selected and redesigned in computer environment. Planned and designed activities are provided by students on internet. The application effect of the laboratory activities in the virtual environment to student motivation and success has been investigated. In the research, 'pre-test post-test control group model' was used as the real test models. In this research, 136 eighth-grade students from a state secondary school in Kastamonu participated in the research was carried out in the spring semester of 2014-2015 academic year. The data were collected with the help of a motivation scale, measuring the motivation of the students for science learning and an achievement test that will include the 'states of matter and heat' unit in the 8th grade science course.T-Test was used in the analysis of the data. According to the results obtained; traditional and web-based virtual activity using sicience labs has resulted in a significant positive difference in the academic achievement of students. In addition, if the traditional science lab and the virtual sicience lab are used together; motivation for performance, motivation for collaborative work, motivation for participation, motivation for learning science, motivation for communication, found that there is no difference in the academic achievement of students who don't use any laboratory environment.
