Wlodzimierz Staniewski, return to the roots in theatre

Wlodzimierz Staniewski is a reformist and innovator. He has been in search of new forms and entities in theatre and he directs his studies to the rituals, which establish the roots of drama. Staniewski, with the group Gardziencie Theatre Company which he himself founded, was affected from carnavalesc of Bakhtin's, and in the light this point of view, for long years he explored the stories, traditional folk songs and rituals which belong to his own tradition and culture and then he diverted his scope to the rituals and sources which established the roots of ancient Greece.
