Abstract (EN)

In our country, besides the studies about different religions and various subjects of the history of religions field, a number of studies and researches have being done about the important Muslim scholars grown up in the Islamic world and their works. The research problem can be indicated as an evaluation of the information given about Judaism and Christianity in Maqrizi?s works, who is one of the most important scholars and philosophers of the Islamic world and who is connected to Ibn Haldun?s school. In this context, we can express the objectives of this study as follows;1. Several works and sources, which can be called as the classics of the history of religions field, have been reviewed and reached today. This study aims to be a step forward in this sense.2. Indicating the method used by the historian Takiyuddin el-Maqrizi while informing about the religions.3. Indicating the records and sources given by Maqrizi and evaluating them. This study especially includes the information about Judaism and Christianity given by Maqrizi in his book called El-Hitat.While conducting the study, we tried to review and translate all the data and information related to the subject. We didn?t ignore referring to the sources related to our subject for indicating the accordance with today?s data and information. As a result of this study we have realized that Maqrizi, who had reached most of the sources at first hand, tried to be objective as much as possible and give accurate information while examining and discussing the religions. We have to emphasize especially that the information given by Maqrizi is above being apologetic or judgemental.
