Abstract (EN)
From the dawn of the ages, Anatolia has always been a settled geography. And the Ottoman occupation one of a fraction of time in the settlement history in Anatolia. As much as newly developed settlements have seen in the region, the lost settlemens was there too. Thats why the lost villages in Sivas in Ottoman era has been selected for subject of this research. İn the prolouge section, sources, method and the general informations concerning to the studying field have been rendered. Afterwards, the main subject has been revealed in three chapters. The first chapter named as " The Settlement History of Sivas in Ottoman Classic Era And Before". İn regard of preperation for examining the main object, in this chapter diffrent civilisation's settlement culture before the Ottoman domination and Ottoman classic era settlement culture have been evaluated. İn the second chapter, reasons, time and time span and formation phases of the dispersal settlement in Sivas region has been examined. Since the subject covers a very long time span between 16th and 20th centuries, the whole, divided into 50 year parts. For each parts the reasons of a village disperse, dispersal time and place examined seperately and than the general image tried to be drawed. İn the sub-section of the reason for settlement dispersal the casuses like, climate fluctations, natural disasters, riots, escape from taxation, the change in name of the settlement, the clustering and deformation the system of land will be evaluated. İn the third chapter, newly emerged settlements after the 16th century have been examined by the criterias of casues, place and time. This cahpter took shape with the direction of healing process of disordered settlement system. Moreover the re-placement and re-naming of the settlements have been observed and evaluated. Main findings of the poject dissected in conclusion part. After the listing of the sources of the thesis, there are tables attached at the end, wich they were created very beginning of the source scanning and they're the main bearing of the work.
