In the sources of the XVII. and XVIII. centuries Kütahya's poets

IN THE SOURCES OF THE XVII. AND XVIII. CONTURIES KÜTAHYA?S POETSMurat DEĞERABSTRACTIn this study, it is aimed to present the poets involved in the XVIIth and XVIIIthcentury sources, to introduce the literaty surroundings that came into existence in thisperiod and to bring up the place of Kütahya in Turkish literature my study also assisststo expase cultural inventory of Kütahya.Kütahya has had an important place in Turkish culturals georaphy since theperiod that it became under Turkish savereignty. The information abaut lots of poetsfrom Kütahya given in the sources of boththe XVIIth century and the XVIIIth century.In this sources , the information abaut the poets such as Âhû Sâdık, Ârif Efendi, ÂrifMehmed, Askerû, Azbû, Azmû, Burhaneddin lyâs Çelebi, Celâleddin Ergûn Çelebi,Derviş Hüsâm, Esûfû, Fâriğû, Fâtma Hânım, Fenâyû Alû, Firâkû, Gaybû, Hâlis AhmedDede, zârû, Kabûlû, Kalenderû, Künhû, Mahvû, Nâsır, Nutkû, Sâkıb Dede, Senâyû, Sırrı,Şah Çelebi Efendi, Şah Mehmed Çelebi, Şerûfû, Şeyhû, Şükrü, Ünsû, Visâlû, Vusûlû andZeynüddin Efendi is given. From all these poets, only Sâkıb Dede, is ariginally fromzmir and Visâlû is from Niğde. Both these two poets settled in Kütahya due to thairduties. Jobs and spent remaining of their lives in this town. Eventhough Azmû,Burhaneddin lyâs Çelebi, Celâleddin Ergûn Çelebi, Firâkû, zârû, Kabûlû, Kalenderû,Şah Çelebi Efendi, Şah Mehmed Çelebi, Şeyhû, Vusûlû and Zeynüddin Efendi livedbefore the XVIIth and XVIIIth centruries, in formation abaut then exists in the XVIIthand XVIIIth centuries. In comparison this number with other towns, the importantplace of Kütahya in Turkish literature can be understood easily.After shahzadah Bayezid event the tradition of sending shahzadas to sanjakdiedout. That affected literary life in Kütahya negatively, the poets educated in Kütahyafaced in the event of deporture from Kütahya with some jobs such as teachering andkadhing because of not beingable to find a protector. But after XVIIth century, literarysurroundings in Kütahya ininclined towards sufism. Ergûniyye dervish lodge inKütahya brought forth an important literary surrounding in the town, as well while itwas affecting the sacial and political life of the city. Other sufistic thaught systems alsoconstituted their own literary surroundings even if they were not as much as Mevlevûlodge
