Abstract (EN)

Muhammed b. Hamza Güzelhisarî, who lived at the end of XVII. century in Aydın and worked as mufti, is one of the Ottomans scholars.He has written a lot of tractates over canon law.He has many other works on different subjects aside from the one we study which shows how prolific a scribe he is.Ezharüt't Tenzil, which we examine as a written work, includes commentary of chosen verses from the chapters Fatiha to Nas. The writer mostly had chosen the verses which explain the belief. It is also worth mentioning that the chosen verses are the ones nowadays most frequently read.Aside from the one we study which in the Beyazıd state library, this work has four more copies; three of them are in the Süleymaniye Library and one as this one in the Beyazid State Library.Writing his commentary, Muhammed b. Hamza Güzelhisari, benefited from commentaries like Taberi, Zemahşeri, Fahreddin Razi, Kadı Beydavi ve Ebussuud beside many more important sources.The Scribe , in the Ezharu't Tenzil , puts most emphasis on hearsays and verses from the Qur'an.While writing his commentary he followed the way of explaining the linguistics, canon law, science of lecture, Munasebâtu?l-Quran, Hurûf-u Mukattaa, and Fezailu Qur?an which are considered to be the tenets of acumen commentary.Looking at the method he followed in his commenary gives us the conviction that Ezharu?t Tenzil can be considered one of the dirayet commentaries.one of the features of his comentary is that his extendend explanation on kalam and explanations on lugavi .In addition, its another aspect is that it reflects the features from last period of Ottoman commentaries.
