Making use of Court Register Book numbered XXVII of Antalya, the administrative,social, economic and cultural structure of Antalya between the years 1883 and 1886 has beendealt with.While the main dynamics lying under political victories and a section of people?s lifestyle of Ottoman Empire, which was a world state ruling on three continents throughout 600years, have been stated in the light of the data in Antalya Court Register numbered XXVII, ithas been tried to shed some light on a period of Antalya town historiography as well.Having been exposed to great changes together with its organizations in theadministrative, social, economic and cultural areas as a result of Imperial Rescript of theTanzimat in 1839, Imperial Rescript of Reforms in 1856, Declaration of ConstitutionalMonarchy in 1876, Ottoman State, on the one hand, was trying to get rid of the distress it wasin and on the other hand, it had to make lots of concessions and reorganize its organizationsand institutes so as to receive support of the European Powers and carry on its existence.Between the years 1883-1886, Antalya, which takes place in the Antalya Court Register Booknumbered XXVII that has been dealt with, became a city reflecting those radical changes inthe 19th century.In spite of all the changes that were experienced, Ottoman Public Institutions, having asteady and an old past, kept their existence and impact besides the new institutions at thattime; while, the social, cultural and economic life of the public, that was formed by Islamiclaw and Turkish customs and traditions, succeeded in surviving without undergoing anyradical changes at all.
