Abstract (EN)
The use of technology in teaching Turkish as a foreign language is of great importance in terms of improving students' language skills and supporting the learning process. In addition to traditional teaching methods, various tools and digital platforms offered by technology allow students to understand the structure of the language, strengthen their vocabulary and communication skills. This study aims to determine the effect of podcast use on listening anxiety and listening skill self-efficacy perception in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. The study group of the research consists of 43 B1 level students (23 experimental, 20 control) who learn Turkish as a foreign language at Istanbul Medipol University Turkish Preparatory School. In the study, a quasi- experimental design with pretest-posttest unbalanced control group was used. During the experimental implementation process, the students in the experimental group received audio files, two podcasts each week for six weeks, and the same podcast files were uploaded to three different mobile applications during the same period. With the students in the control group, the lessons continued with the listening texts and activities in the existing book. "Foreign Language Listening Anxiety Scale" and "Turkish as a Foreign Language Listening Skills Self-Efficacy Scale" were used as data collection tools in the study. Statistical analysis techniques were used to analyze the data. As a result of the research, it was determined that podcast (audio broadcast) application had a positive effect on the listening anxiety of Turkish as a foreign language learners. In addition, it was determined that podcasts (audio broadcasting) made a significant difference in favor of the experimental group in the 'high level-evaluation' sub-dimension of the listening self-efficacy perception scale, while it did not provide a significant success in the 'basic level' and 'comprehension-synthesis' sub-dimensions. In line with the results of the study, it is suggested that learners of Turkish as a foreign language should use podcasts (audio broadcasting) effectively, especially to improve their listening skills.
