In addition to the presentations of the students, question-answer and brainstorming techniques were used in the speech classes. In the research, the mixed method, which used qualitative and quantitative research methods, was used. The quantitative data obtained from the pre-test and post-test were analyzed with Independent Group t-Test. The qualitative data obtained from the focus group interview and reflective diary were analyzed by content analysis method. According to the findings, many positive effects of the speech lessons given in the Second Life 3D virtual learning environment on students learning Turkish as a foreign language were determined.
