Review of the German language textbook Delfin within the scope of the common European Framework of reference for languages (CEFR)

Özet (EN)

The objective of this study is to review the German textbook called ?Delfin? used as an auxiliary teaching material by a lot of teachers after examining in detail the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages Portfolio prepared for teaching foreign language. In this context, we will seek answers to following questions according to scientific studies: To what extent it complies with the CEFR? Is it adequate fort he student or not? What kind of activites it contains? The first part of the study that consists of four parts focuses on the goal, importance and methods of the research. In the second part theoretical information is given concerning CEFR. In the third part of the text book is examined. In the fourth section, findings, recommendations and results of the study are provided. As a result of the study, German textbook Delfin extensively complies with the text according to information set out in CEFR which prioritize the use of language and communication skills. The exercises given in the textbook don?t show compatibility to common levels contained in CEFR. The reading texts show signs regarding the culturel dimension of the language teaching. Delfin don't overlaps largely with CEFR which serves as a guideline for language teachers and standardizes language teaching.
