Unions overlooking at emigrants within the perspective of working conditions and union expreriences of emigrants: Karabük sample

Present researches show that there is indifference and/or disconnection between the organising of foreign immigrants and attitude of the unions. Moreover, while criticising only the ineffectiveness of the unions in organising foreign immigrant workers, the content of the issue has widened more by adding (the number of) irregular immigrants, those who are under the international protection, and those temporarily protected. Within this respect, the reasons related to the indifference or disconnection of unions are thought to be searched through the relations between the present working conditions of immigrant workers and their previous union experiences. In the entrance of the thesis conducted within this framework, the problem of the research and its importance has been defined. In the second section, literature related with the study takes place and in the third section the research method has been explained. In the fourth section, research findings related with the foreign immigrants have been given and in the fifth section interviews with the unions have been interpreted. In the last section, results of the researches and recommendations have been mentioned. The research shows that foreign immigrants have been affected by the negative conditions of the unregistered working as well as they affect the workpower markets, they also do not seem to have a certain point of view or experience about the unions. On the contrary, the unions are aware of the effect created by the foreign immigrants but it is understood that their pronounced attitude cannot be reflected in the action at a desired level.
