Curriculum proposal of Turkish course teaching for foreign primary school students

In this study, it is aimed to determine the problems, current situation and the needs of the learning of the foreign primary school students who speak Turkish as second language and devoloping comprehensive and functional curriculum proposal of Turkish teaching according to students language needs and proficiency. The study that is designed according to the multiphase mixed design from mixed research methods, was achieved in three stages; needs analysis, development and evaluation stages. In the needs analysis phase, exploratory sequential mixed pattern was designed, first qualitative data were collected within the scope of literature review, semi-structured interviews with foreign primary school students, classroom teachers and field experts, researcher diary and student products. In order to determine the Turkish language skills and competencies of the students, the scale of the determining the language skills needs was developed and applied. While the datas were obtained from the semi-structured interview and interview forms were analyzed by content analysis, the qualitative datas were obtained from literature review, document analysis, researcher diary and student products were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. The quantitative datas were obtained from the scale of determining the language skills needs were analyzed by statistical analysis method. In the phases of the development and evaluation are designed to the collective case study pattern. In the evaluation phase, a workshop was organized with the participation of field experts in order to evaluate the proposal, and the curriculum proposal was finalized by making the necessary corrections in line with the datas were obtained from the teamwork of field experts and the expert opinion form. According to the stages of the study, findings were obtained and based on the findings, results, discussions and suggestions were included.
